The swift growth in technology has changed the landscape and the future for our students. They now live in a world where knowledge is readily available and there is a barrage of multimedia, connectivity and opportunity. Disruptive technologies (a term coined by Harvard Business School professor Clayton M. Christensen to describe a new technology that unexpectedly displaces an established technology) remain to change the way we live. With the rapid growth in technology, many of the jobs of the future are yet to be realized. The connectivity of the internet, moveable devices, wafer svelte TVs, etc could not be imagined, nor could the impact innovation and technologies have had on, not only the workforce, but the world in which we live. The after 10 years will see technology and innovation growing exponentially. Are screens’ detrimental to our students? We trust the answer is no. Their purpose is to make learning accessible for students, to increase engagement and bear them an opportunity to innovate. As we labor remain to work with Lee Crockett (our 21st Century learning guru) we construct our students’ ability to be global citizens adapting to change, innovating, solving problems, collaborating and communicating. Our commitment is to the holistic nature of learning. Our students quiet need a firm base of core skills, literacy and numeracy are fundamental. Thinking critically? Asking questions? Living our FRESH values? Our school is zoned and we have many inquiries around enrollment. Since HM have been introduced at PPS, we have seen a marked improvement in student achievement. Alongside this, our uppermost triumph is in the development of the total child’. Our community is very supportive of the school and we have many opportunities for families to help. We are one of the handful of schools across the world that Lee is working closely with to thrive our students’ capacity to learn and grow in a speedy changing world. Our Resource center is a hive of activity! It offers a flexible learning space with a range of digital and paper resources to promote student learning. Jo, our Teacher Librarian collaborates with classes throughout the year to flourish units of Inquiry. This is in response to the belief that a supple learning environment supports and enhances student centered learning where learners can move around freely and labor where and how they feel superior suits them.
